no matter how you spin it a role that can directly push levels for the developer of the game to rate will always have some amount of influence behind it, what you make of that influence and whether you say your piece on certain topics or not is entirely individual, still inedvertantly reflective of the team

i really never liked the idea of resigning in protest as it feels like we should have more of a voice by staying here rather than letting our absence speak for us but if it is shown once more that nobodies voices actually matter then i don't see much else in terms of any solutions

If there are no repercussions it's fair to say a sizeable amount of the mod team is going to lose a lot of trust in the decision making here, and I feel like we will lose a fair few as a result

the perspective of ''we are mods, we just send levels'' is a fine perspective to have but keep the perspective to yourself! I enjoy sharing my mind and if any small shred of my influence helps to improve this game then I call that a win. Some mods here are so so so much more dedicated to improving the state of the game, despite the setbacks

I don't use twitter, am not too active in discord servers, and ingame hate messages are directed to my levels. I'm a very closed off person. I don't receive hate personally. But seeing people in this team that I respect get in iffy situations, like moral disagreements, or people that enjoy using Twitter that get targetted, or anything else for that matter that affects a team member... that makes me feel bad. I don't like it when dedicated, enthousiastic volunteers get unreasonable negativity. while his behaviour didnt directly affect me or involve me, it slowly began to tank my mood because of the people around me judging me or distancing from me because they would view me as part of the problem, and knowing i couldnt do anything to resolve it aside from giving up a position that genuinely means a lot to me, that is what affected me. i wasnt affected directly but i was affected indirectly

I'm not really sure what more there is to discuss with Pauze. I think I've been super clear that I think that there's no more chances. Pauze has been having behavior problems, the most recent I can recall is the one I mentioned top of this year, and these chat logs go back to March and he's doing it, again. I already feel extremely uncomfortable with the content of his jokes, I don't think racist jokes are okay ever. But added on to the fact that he was acting this way in private, with his name linking GDS so it's abundantly clear who he is, for anyone to just screenshot. The fact we got the chat logs just exposed that after what he did on twitter, all the damage he caused, he's just on CS making racist jokes. I'm done with watching double standards, I think the only right way forward is for him to resign.

i have had a thing for a while since i retired that no matter how bad a fellow gd youtubers situation is with drama i check in every single time and i am always surprised at how much this stuff is tied to their soul, idk what it is but with wulzy i never really let much of what anyone ever said actually reach me. it reached wulzy and i, as will, was always able to choose how it got to me. i guess i have that same outlook on modchat. i have never felt personally critiqued, or felt like i was personally affected by most of mod drama. it's mod drama. i am a mod and i send levels to rob, and im in the chat, but functionally i am not to blame for the way things are nor can i change it. so it's not directed at me? idk ? but i also rarely took public stances and let my general positivity for the game steer me through rocky waters

Hey, want to share my insights on your responses pauze. 1. Anyone using this alt account is sharing a responsibility for what is said there. Excusing it is no bueno. The same level as ''My little brother said these things when I wasn't at my PC so its fine.'' Responsibility is your main focus and using an alt to do worse trash talk makes it worse, not better. 2. Trash talking on CS is NOT private. They are public servers, and anyone could have screenshotted or videod your messages regardless. Besides, mods have been demoted for private stuff. 3. Just because it wasn't done out of hate doesn't excuse anything. I believe SwtCyn wasn't an evil thumb-twiddling bad guy when they said the things they said but that doesn't mean it isn't seen as such to other people. I'll admit I'm a bit frustrated by this situation.

yeah after season 4 of premier ended I realized how toxic and shitty I was consistently feeling after each match and I stepped back, so it isn't fully fair to say that this would not have been a change in my life had this not gone on twitter. it got to the point where one of my close friends of a very long time and I got into a super heated argument and idk it just is so unhealthy for me. if I play again I need to figure out how to be more at peace and use it less as a tool to cope and more as a game. I've only really hopped on to check on my inventory since then.

i honestly don't really care if it's normalized or not. We are representatives of RobTop and the game. That is in the rules, it's who we are. By behaving in certain ways we are directly endorsing the game. Racism is racism, no matter what the community of the game sees it as, and linking it back to GD through GDS is just clear violation of the rules and I hold maintenance members to a higher standard because they enforce the rules. 1. My main account is obviously mine, the alt account stuff is from a shared account with a bunch of different people. I don't really know who sent what, but the logs are pretty typical of common toxic back and forth in CS games and I want to get away from it. As you can see the language on the second account goes beyond any trolling I do on the main account and is not something I would say. 2. Since I know the source of this is trash talking without actual malicious intent or hate behind what is being said, this would probably be a warning. We tend to enforce based on intent and what would be considered a sign of failing as a GD Mod, trash talking from CS that was private up until a few days ago is not the same as saying these things in GDS, for example. 3. I'm not sure, probably something in line with #2 given that nothing I said was backed with malice or hate. It is stupid trash talk back and forth in what was previously a very private setting. CS is very competitive and its easy for people to shout out random stuff to try and throw each other off, it is stupid and childish but not representing a hidden hatred of any group of people.

Yeah ideally this could've been completely avoided, but unfortunately that's not what happened, and I don't think that we can be that support group. As it stands right now, I do not feel comfortable with Pauze continuing his work as maintenance, or maybe even mod, knowing that within the last 6 months he has been sending racist messages in CS lobbies, and on alts using slurs. This isn't excusable in my opinion, I don't think that getting into peoples heads is a valid excuse, because some of the messages were directed at his own team. I don't think that even if it was all just meant to get into peoples head's that that excuses this behavior. I want Pauze to get better, and I hope he does, but this is way too recent for me to think this should just be a slap on the wrist and move on, and I'm sure a lot of others here feel the same way. I don't think Pauze is bigoted, unfortunately that is how he acted while linking to the game he moderates for the last several months, and maybe even further if the logs went far enough back. This behavior isn't excusable.

More as a personal note, I think this is the reason we have friends. Friends are there to help you out when you no longer act appropriately. I heard some of u saying that calling out is the best course of action, but as long as it's done privately and with the intention of changing the person's mindset it's all that is really needed in this situation. This could've all been avoided if Pauze's friends were there to tell him "hey, this is not an okay thing to say", so as I am disappointed in the comments made public I am more disappointed in the people who allowed this to happen. Because we can be idiots sometimes, and that's what friends are for, to stop us from becoming the worst version of ourselves

I'll organize my full thoughts once I've fully woken up since I got up like 15 minutes ago but, I'd also like to remind that with the uan situation, while there was the factor of being hacked twice in a short amount of time, most of, if not all of uan's statements that were factored in were private, so there's a bit of a tradeoff in the scenarios. SwtCyn's statements were private as well. Pauze's are public. While organizing the rest of my thoughts, I would like to say that I do greatly appreciate the apology, and like Pauze (and many of you) have stated, there is no apology that could excuse it.

I hope your break from CS helps a lot, because I don’t think the game is healthy for you if it’s making you act like that, but ultimately I feel super uncomfortable knowing that you justified in your head it’s okay to say these things in a CS lobby not even 6 months ago, like this is super recent and I’m not sure what your plans are but I don’t think you should continue being maintenance, I expect the enforcer of rules to not casually break them in their free time.

A persons character isnt 100% what appears in online spaces, especially what happens in gaming communities. I have a friend who ive known for 5 years who is close with me and i spoke with him today as he showed me his chat logs from cs, i was dissapointed to see what was said but knowing all the discussions ive had with them and how supportive they are of me and the people around them. It is not telling of who they are. There are many factors as to why people behave the way they do in video games and I think competitive games can bring out the worst in people sometimes. Hey, In the last day some CS2 chat logs of mine got dug up where I said some dumb things to get a rise out of the guys on the enemy team. It was in poor taste and doesn’t represent who I am or what I believe. My actions here were stupid and inexcusable and I deeply regret letting the game's culture make this feel okay. I recognize that by using language like that it perpetuates and normalizes the use of such language further which is unacceptable. It causes real harm to continue to speak like this, even if it is in a space where such language is normalized. I understand and respect how disappointed many of you are in me. I know it does not mean much to just say this, actions speak louder than words, but I promise you I will do better. I am sorry for saying these things and I recognize that I have made many of you uncomfortable through my actions. I also wanted to mention that I have not played CS in a while and will continue to take a break from the game. Counter Strike has been an unhealthy coping mechanism that helps me blow off steam through toxicity. This in no way excuses what I have said, however. I am especially sorry to those of you who reside in or belong to groups disrespected by the things I have said. I’ve played valorant for 5 years and have like 2000 hours in the game and i’ve never felt the need to be derogatory. I'd like to give my two cents regarding the earlier conversation. Please bear with me. The past month has been egregious to be on the internet as a community member, given the exponential growth of negative expression and toxicity on not just internet hotspots fueling said antisocial behavior, but how much it's become so mainstream and normalized anywhere. A part of this frustration extends towards the moderator team, which has occasionally involved itself in shittalking and drama. While my motivations to take my current break lasting until October is more in regards to the internet in its entirety, matters like the incident with SwtCyn have solidified my decision to stay away from the community for some time, at least on discord. It was genuinely appalling to see someone who played a significant role in allowing me to acclimate to my position as mod express blasphemous rhetorics that, even if indirectly, dehumanizes my identity as a queer and furry individual. It's painful to see that someone on the inside which I trusted would engage in antisocial, spiteful behavior, and it's made me feel unsafe being on the online space. So, imagine my reaction when I see the publizised CS chat history that harbor spiteful, antisocial behavior that alludes to racism and deathwishing, the same behavior that members of the mod team have had to tank for years (especially tenfold since the start of 2026), by someone who oversees the Mod Team. I am genuinely baffled by the disconnect in moral ideals, and, by extension, integrity. You are free to have your opinion on Valve's decision to publizise CS chat logs, and I understand that online gameplay in games like CS, Valorant, etc harbor a lot of trash-talking and banter which aren't particularly uncommon for those communities. However, I firmly believe that your actions and statements online have a footprint that can have ramifications, and that's what we see here, made worse by the fact that Pauze's username on CS is the same verbatim and especially further exacerbated by his decision to bring up GD and the GDS invite link for whatever reason. While I won't deny that we should not be expected to automatically understand PR practices as individuals with our own lives, I would expect some professional standards by the individuals who help oversee the Mod Team, yet I've seen social blunders get made multiple the past year and this year that end up impacting the Mod Team as a whole. I feel horrible saying this, but seeing revelations like these, all while having already dealt with an onslaught of drama especially given matters involving Viprin, uan, and SwtCyn makes this feel all the more embarrassing, especially since the team and myself have already gone through so much. Quite frankly, I am thoroughly disappointed in the state of the mod team and how much backlash and online harassment is needed to lobby changes to ensure the sanctity and safety of our own members. I absolutely love being a part of the mod team, and as you guys know I am very outspoken about safety, security and social concerns with the intent to help ensure everyone else's peace of mind, but in a situation where it feels like my own moral integrity ends up incongruent with someone who I look up to for support, I start to question my own self and place. It's already bad enough that multiple mods have resigned this year due to discomfort and overwhelm from online discourse, and I don't want to end up doing the same, and it seems from the conversation I am not the only one that feels that way. Sorry for the long tangent, I just wanted to voice my thoughts before I self-admit myself to a full on social media break for a week, seeing as avoiding discord isn't enough. the way the system seems to work 99% of the time is rob just seems to check what was recently sent, so amount of sends don’t seem to matter, it seems to be based on how recent you sent before rob started rating

So about this whole bot-ban thing, my own personal bot got banned too, so it’s clearly not some specific issue with this particular tool. Probably just RobTop doing a bit of cleanup on bots that hammer his API pretty hard, or maybe it’s his way of keeping shady bots from spamming comments and stuff

Idk my point is more that if we don’t want ppl tracking sends, we need more transparency on how the rate system works. I have been a mod for 6 years and I still have no idea if amount of sends actually helps at all when it comes to getting rates
